Trick out your PowerSchool at the Advanced Learning Summit 2008!
Pearson would like you to join us for four days jam-packed full of hands-on activities that peel back the interface and take you deep "under the hood" and show you ways you can customize and "soup up" your PowerSchool experience. Each day is filled with hands-on activities that will show you how to apply some of today's hottest web and database technologies to expand and enhance PowerSchool's capabilities and provide you with information, tips, tricks, and secrets you will find at no other event.
Not to be overlooked is the tremendous opportunity to meet and mingle with some of the best PowerSchool minds in the world. This is also a great opportunity to rub shoulders with other power users and enhance your peer network.
To qualify for this invitation-only training, you do need to take and pass the entrance exam, but the knowledge and experience gained by attending will be well worth your effort. We wish you luck on the assessment and hope to see you at the 2008 PowerSchool Advanced Learning Summit.

“
Last year was my first ALS event. It was quite honestly one of the BEST conferences that I have attended. The information and training that was provided was applicable and extremely valuable. Pearson staff were top-notch and the people I had a chance to meet were fantastic. Keep up the fantastic work on this event”

What’s new for 2008?
A hearty thanks to all 2007 ALS attendees who completed the recent event survey. We appreciate your feedback, and we listened!
Some of the topics to be covered this year come directly from your wishlist. (X codes and Widget Workshop, for example)
In addition, we've added a strand for veterans on two of the days. On those days, previous attendees will work on projects that build on skills covered in 2007. Newcomers can choose to work on projects used at previous summits that are based on fundamental t-list, sql, and javascript concepts.
Who should attend?
The PowerSchool Advanced Learning Summit is structured specifically for innovative education IT/IS professionals and administrators who are experienced PowerSchool users and who: know that "peppermint, chamomile, and Darjeeling" is not an example of a t-list; are not frightened by certain groupings of letters of the alphabet like SQL, XML, or DOM; and desire to be challenged to learn how to expand PowerSchool functionality through advanced customization tools and techniques. Pocket protectors - optional.
Hands-on staff development using state of the art technology.
You will receive hands-on training during your time at ALS. Please bring your own wireless laptop and make sure it meets the minimum requirements (described on the Register page). A wireless network (IEEE 802.11b and 802.11g compliant) will be deployed throughout the ALS campus, so you can access the network and the Internet at all times. We will have a dedicated technical staff onsite should you require any assistance with your laptop or with the wireless network.

“The Advanced Learning Summit is a great event for any PowerSchool user who likes to push the envelope of what PowerSchool can do. The hands on, focused environment is perfect for learning and experimenting. This is easily the best conference I've ever been to. ALS definitely took my PowerSchool experience, and by association that of my district, to the next level.”
